The Democratic Gathering parliamentary bloc, led by MP Taymour Jumblatt, participated in non-binding parliamentary consultations with Prime Minister-designate, Nawaf Salam, at Parliament to discuss the government formation process.
Following the meeting, MP Jumblatt described Lebanon’s current juncture as "a historic moment," emphasizing the importance of seizing the opportunity to rebuild the country.
"We are at a pivotal stage in Lebanon, and we have the chance to create a state and a future for this nation. We conveyed this message to Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, extending our best wishes for his success in this challenging new mission," Jumblatt said.
The “Democratic Gathering” leader went on to underscored the necessity of inclusivity and dialogue.
"To build a state under such difficult circumstances, we must engage with everyone. No one can eliminate the other." Jumblatt finally urged political parties, including his own bloc, to ease their demands and reduce pressure on both the Prime Minister-designate and the President to facilitate the formation of a government.
