Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea directed a pointed inquiry to Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi asking: "Is it true, as reported by some media outlets, that there is widespread lawlessness at the Masnaa border crossing? And is it accurate that certain General Security officers are collaborating with a Hezbollah-linked security group to facilitate the entry of Assad regime-affiliated gangs into Lebanon?"
In a statement, Geagea demanded clarity: "If untrue, the government must officially refute these claims with concrete evidence, affirming state control over borders. If true, such breaches are entirely unacceptable. The longstanding lawlessness caused by de facto policies and the collusion or negligence of certain official bodies must end decisively. Disciplinary measures must be taken against anyone failing in their duties and responsibilities."
