Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with General Jasper Jeffers, co-chair of the mechanism monitoring the ceasefire, at the Grand Serail.
U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Lisa Johnson, was also present during the talks, which focused on the mission of the Quintet Committee overseeing the truce.
Mikati underscored the "need for full adherence to the ceasefire, the prevention of security violations, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese occupied territories."
Separately, the Prime Minister convened an organizational meeting for the High Relief Commission with newly appointed acting Secretary-General Brigadier General, Bassam Nabulsi, and outgoing Secretary-General Major General, Mohammad Khair.
Discussions reportedly reflect the government’s continued focus on security and humanitarian challenges amidst heightened tensions.
