Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati confirmed that "Lebanon is undergoing an unprecedented historical crisis, and the Israeli aggression has led to severe human and economic losses estimated by the World Bank at 8.5 billion dollars."
In his speech at the Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh, he said: "I urge you to kindly assist Lebanon and continue to provide food, health, and humanitarian aid, and I call for respect for Lebanon's sovereignty and to refrain from interfering in its internal affairs."
He added, "We are in the process of establishing a fund for reconstruction and assisting the displaced, supervised by the United Nations."
