The Israeli Broadcasting Authority quoted senior security officials stating that "the ground operation in Lebanon is nearing its end." They confirmed that "the Israeli army's ground operation in southern Lebanon is in its final stages," with completion expected within a week, subject to operational and political considerations.
The authority also noted that "from a military standpoint, the army has achieved significant achievements on the contact line in southern Lebanon, with the dismantling of many of Hezbollah's infrastructures." Israeli Army Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi previously remarked that Israel could reach a definitive end to the conflict with Hezbollah, stating that the army had succeeded in eliminating the party's senior leadership.
