Kataeb Leader, MP Samy Gemayel wrote on "X":
"Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati's stance on the Iranian Parliament Speaker's remarks and his request to summon the chargé d'affaires of the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon is a positive step toward restoring the state's authority, sovereignty, and decision-making power."
"We support such actions to curb unwarranted foreign interference in Lebanese affairs. Now, it's crucial to follow this up by enforcing state authority on the ground," Gemayel noted.
Gemayel's remarks came following caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati's directive to Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib to summon the chargé d'affaires of the Iranian Embassy in Beirut and seek clarification on Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf's statement, in which he suggested Tehran's readiness to negotiate with France on implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
