The spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichai Adraee, announced that the army forces have begun a targeted and precise ground operation against Hezbollah targets in the area near the border in southern Lebanon.
He added, "Based on a decision from the political leadership, the army began a targeted and precise ground operation several hours ago in southern Lebanon against the targets and infrastructure of Hezbollah in several villages near the border, from which there is an immediate and real threat to the Israeli towns in the northern border."
He continued, "The army is operating according to an organized plan prepared by the General Staff and the Northern Command, for which the forces have been training over the past few months. The ground forces are supported by airstrikes from the air force and artillery bombardment targeting military objectives in the area, in full coordination with the infantry units."
He indicated that "approval has been granted for the phases of the campaign, and it is being executed in accordance with a decision from the political leadership. Operation 'Arrows of the North' continues based on the situational assessment, alongside the fighting in Gaza and other fronts. The army continues to fight and work to achieve the war's objectives, making every effort necessary to protect the citizens of the State of Israel."
