Maronite Patriarch Bechara Rahi called upon the "concerned actors for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further casualties," urging "the United Nations and the Security Council to interfere to oblige the concerned sides to end the war and go for negotiations."
In his appeal, Rahi also called the UN to compel the Lebanese parliament to elect a president of the republic.
