A statement was issued by the Caretaker Minister of Information, Ziad Makary:
"In the context of the psychological warfare tactics employed by the Israeli enemy, many citizens in Beirut and other areas have received random phone messages through the landline network, urging them to evacuate their location. The office of the Minister of Information was among those who received the message.
This tactic is not surprising coming from the Israeli enemy, which resorts to all means in its psychological warfare, but it does not change anything.
Work at the Ministry of Information will continue normally, and all staff are focused on their daily tasks, which are of greater importance than any messages in this delicate situation. We urge people not to give this matter more attention than it deserves, noting that it is being monitored by the relevant authorities."
Makary: The Ministry of Information is operating normally
