Grace Massoud wrote this article in MTV website:
Oprah Winfrey has gone where no man has gone before. Her life’s work speaks for itself and has left a monumental mark the world over. Her words of wisdom in the recent Jamie Kern Lima show should be engraved in our minds and hearts, which is why I am stopping at every. one.
She rehashed the specific events that shaped her and taught her the most valuable lessons in life.
When she was just a four-year-old girl on her grandma’s back porch in Milwaukee, she watched her washing the clothes in an iron tin with a long pole to pull them up. Her grandma told her to look closely as she would have to do this one day. At that instant, Oprah thought: no, this is not going to be my life. From that moment, there was a hint of Him. She became grounded in the knowledge there was something bigger than her that had her back, therefore she’s never alone. She always prayed to God on her knees, she still does to this day. Adding to her strength, there’s a certain synergy she always felt being connected to her ancestry. Her faith is the essential motivator in her existence.
As she attested, her power, her success, all her accolades came from feeling worthy, the child of God. She had her fair share of instances that tested her faith such as her mother’s cruelty but she kept the course because of his presence in her life. She goes on to affirm that the mean-spiritedness, the ugliness in people comes from the sense of not feeling worthy.
If you’re looking for answers, God, or the lifeforce, whatever your belief system may be, will show you the way to your destiny if you get quiet and still enough. God speaks in calmness. The world will drown out the voice of God in its hurriedness and chaos. Get still, don’t go to friends, family, social media, outside yourself for the answers. The universal force of Life is always speaking and breathing through you. And the answer will come. When it does, be open to it and go where it leads you in complete faith and surrender. Another reason for her massive success is that she has been obedient to the call and responsive to the answer.
You will be led to the rock that is higher than thou, Psalm 61:2.
