Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati during his patronage of the opening of the "Fourth Regional Conference of the Arab Union for Internet and Communications," stressed that cybersecurity is one of the most prominent priorities and challenges facing Lebanon and the world as a whole.
“The National Cybersecurity Committee is making great efforts in this regard, reaffirming our commitment to securing cyberspace against malicious threats,” Mikati added.
"We are pleased that the Arab Union for Internet and Communications is holding its fourth conference on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital transformation in Beirut. This is a source of pleasure for several reasons, most notably the continuous confidence in Lebanon despite all the surrounding circumstances. Lebanon will be at the forefront of countries listed on the map of international exhibitions and meetings,” the PM stated.
"Just days ago, we launched the National Digital Transformation Strategy in Lebanon 2020-2030, which we consider a cornerstone in the journey of progress. This strategy aligns with the strategy of combating corruption and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, reflecting the centrality of information technology in public policies,” Mikati added.
In turn, Minister of Telecommunications Johnny Corm emphasized the need to enhance capabilities to protect institutions from cyber threats, highlighting the importance of information security in today's era, calling for unity in confronting challenges in the digital age.
