The Presidential Palace witnessed on Thursday the reception of the credentials of four new accredited ambassadors to Lebanon.
President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received credentials of the Ambassadors of: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Dr. Ian Collard, Angola’s Ambassador Nelson Manuel Cosme, Moldovan Ambassador Dmitri Croitor, and Malta’s Ambassador Dr. Andre Borg.
The credential ceremony was attended by Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Zeina Akar, Foreign Affairs Ministry Secretary General Ambassador Hani Shmaitly, Protocol Director General at the Lebanese Presidency Dr. Nabil Chedid, and Protocol Director General at the Foreign Affairs Ministry Ms. Abir Ali.
As the Ambassadors successively arrived, the approved ceremonies were held, were the Army music played the anthem of each country represented by each Ambassador successively. The Lebanese flag, and the flags of each country represented by the Ambassadors, were also raised on the mast of the Presidential Palace.
Afterwards, each Ambassador saluted the flag before entering the October 22 Salon in the middle of two rows of spears. After arriving to the Ambassador Salon, each Ambassador presented his credentials, to the President, and introduced the members of his diplomatic mission.
Upon the Ambassadors’ departure, the Army music played the Lebanese national anthem.
Ambassadors have conveyed, to the President, the greetings of their Presidents, wishing him success in his national responsibilities. Ambassadors also assured President Aoun of working to strengthen relations between Lebanon and their countries.
For his part, President Aoun conveyed his greetings to the Ambassadors’ Presidents, wishing them success in their diplomatic tasks.
