Ten people were killed due to heavy rainfall in the coastal city of Bahía Blanca, located 600 km south of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
According to local authorities, more than 300 millimeters of rain fell in about six hours, flooding numerous streets and forcing over a thousand people to evacuate in this city of approximately 350,000 residents.
In a statement, local authorities said that five of the six victims died after being trapped in floodwaters on the main road, adding that they do not rule out the possibility of more casualties due to the scale of the climate disaster.
