As the designated time for the Gaza ceasefire agreement to take effect began, celebrations erupted in the war-torn region after 15 months of conflict.
However, in a statement coinciding with the start of the ceasefire, an Israeli Army spokesperson emphasized that Israeli forces would respond appropriately to any breach of the agreement. He stated, “The ceasefire will not take effect as long as Hamas does not fulfill its commitments.”
He further added, “We are fully prepared to implement the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, but Israel will continue its operations as long as Hamas fails to meet the demands.”
