A 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck southwestern Mexico on Sunday, the US Geological Survey said, without causing any casualties or damage, according to AFP.
The epicenter of the quake was located eight kilometers from the town of Cualcomán de Vázquez Pallares, which has a population of about 20,000 and is located about 600 kilometers west of the capital Mexico City.
The quake occurred at a depth of 86.2 kilometers.
Mexico is located between five tectonic plates, making it one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world, especially on the Pacific coast.
