Argentine Alejandro Garnacho, the Manchester United winger, was crowned the winner of the 2024 Puskás Award, presented for the best goal of the year.
The Argentine international earned the award for his stunning bicycle kick goal during the Premier League match between Everton and Manchester United last season. Garnacho appeared in a video after his win was announced, as he was absent from the ceremony held in Doha, Qatar.
The 20-year-old said: "It was, of course, a great goal, but there is still more to offer and much more to look forward to. Thank you all for your support."
Meanwhile, Brazilian star Vinícius Júnior, the Real Madrid forward, won the "The Best" award as the best player in the world for 2024, beating all competitors, especially Spain’s Rodri, who came in second.
Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid's manager, claimed the award for the best coach in the world for 2024. Emiliano Martínez, goalkeeper for Argentina and Aston Villa, was named the best goalkeeper of the year.
