British Foreign Secretary David Lammy announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu could be arrested if he visits the UK, affirming his country's commitment to international law, according to Russia Today.
In response to a question before the Foreign Affairs Committee in the House of Commons, regarding the possibility of Britain enforcing an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) if Netanyahu traveled to the UK, Lammy stated: "There is an obligation on me to refer the matter to the courts if those named seek to enter our country. This does not allow me any discretion—I would refer the case, and the courts would make their decision under our law, recognizing that we are signatories to the Rome Statute, and these are indeed very serious matters."
