United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have discussed Biden’s ceasefire proposal, the UAE state news agency (WAM) reported.
The two leaders stressed the importance of a ceasefire in Gaza and the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law. They also affirmed their support for all initiatives and efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation in the Gaza Strip, protecting the lives of civilians, and a path towards lasting peace in the region based on a two-state solution.
The two leaders also discussed ways to enhance cooperation based on mutual interests.
