Israel’s military has waged at least 450 attacks on Gaza’s healthcare facilities during the war, killing 723 health workers and injuring 924 more, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The attacks have crippled the enclave’s health system, with none of its hospitals now operating at full capacity, said the WHO.
At the same time, communicable diseases are spreading faster than ever in Gaza due to overcrowding and a lack of sanitation supplies. During the war, the WHO has recorded nearly 1.5 million infections, including of chickenpox and jaundice, it said.
