Caretaker Finance Minister, Ali Hassan Khalil, said Tuesday that there is still no breakthrough in the formation of the new government, weeks after the resignation of prime minister Saad Hariri.
Speaking to reporters outside the Parliament, Hassan Khalil maintained that citizens had the right to protest, but that lawmakers had equal rights to reach the House of Deputies to endorse anti-corruption laws.
Commenting on the shooting incident as a convoy was making its way through protesters, the minister said that he was in his office when the event took place.
