Caretaker Minister of Energy, Nada Boustani, accompanied by a media delegation, inspected on Saturday the containers of the second batch of equipment for drilling the oil exploration well sent by Total company.
Boustani called for "keeping hope in this sector and not tarnish its image and leave it clean," noting that another ship carrying equipment will arrive in the port of Beirut tomorrow (Sunday).
Boustani disclosed that the drilling of Lebanon’s first exploratory well for oil and gas will start in December or January.
Total’s representative, who accompanied Boustani in her inspection tour, pointed out that "the exploration process will begin after the completion of the company's work in Egypt," stressing that he "did not touch any lack of transparency from the Lebanese government in this field."
