Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Tuesday chaired the Parliament bureau committee's meeting, in the presence of Deputy Speaker Elie Firzli and MPs Marwan Hamadeh, Alain Aoun, Michel Moussa and Hagop Pakradonian.
Speaker Berri said the meeting for the election of the members of the Parliament bureau committee will take place as scheduled on November 12, to be followed by a legislative session with several project laws and draft laws on its agenda.
"Applying my powers as Parliament Speaker in accordance with Article 38 of the internal rules and in line with the demands of the real civil movement calling for legitimate and rightful demands, I will include on the agenda the following laws:
-Decree 5272 relating to Anti-Corruption Law
-Proposed law to create a court for financial crimes
-Decree 4303 on Old Age Pension Law
-Expedited Proposed Law relating to general amnesty.
Berri pointed out that other important legislative proposals pertaining to the recovery of looted funds, money laundering and the lifting of bank secrecy would be studied by the joint parliamentary committees for final formulas. He said the joint parliamentary committees will hold three sessions a day to finalize them.
Berri also met with British Ambassador to Lebanon, Chris Rampling, with whom he discussed most recent political developments.
