A calm atmosphere prevailed in the city of Sidon on Monday after protesters shifted their movements in the morning to gatherings and sit-ins in front of public institutions to prevent employees from working.
Protesters also blocked entrances of banks for the same purpose.
Shops in Sidon’s commercial market have also been completely closed while government serail employees operated as usual. However, private and public schools fully closed their doors.
Sidon protesters began their strike at dawn on Monday by cutting off the main and internal roads of the city, but the army soon opened them in various directions, and operated intensive patrols to prevent road closures.
