Protesters are still blocking Ain el-Mreisseh road in both directions, as reported on Tuesday.
The situation has sparked squabbles between the protesters and citizens, who supported the protesters' demands but insisted that the roads should remain open to traffic.
Protesters blamed the security forces for not being present in the area to protect them, noting that they do not wish to block roads "but it is necessary to achieve our rights and the rights of the Lebanese people."
The demonstrators also criticized "those who threaten of the imminent collapse of the Lebanese pound in light of the ongoing demonstrations."
"The Lebanese pound has already collapsed," one of the protesters said, calling on everyone to be patient.
