The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Lebanon, Philippe Lazzarini, visited on Wednesday the office of MP Paula Yacoubian, which has become a center for collecting food to help those affected by the fires that engulfed Lebanese regions on Tuesday.
Lazzarini was briefed closely on the efforts made in this context, praising the "volunteering of dozens of young people".
Yacoubian thanked Lazzarini for his visit, paying tribute to "all the volunteers who are working day and night, since the fires first broke out, to deliver aid to those in need."
She stressed that "food and medicine have been secured for everyone who requested. Shelter was also provided for those who were forced to evacuate their houses," pointing out that "no one needed to help of the State and its institutions."
"We continue our work thanks to the confidence of the people. We would like to note that we do not accept financial assistance, only in-kind assistance," she said.
