Lebanese Central Bank Governor, Riad Salameh on Friday highlighted at the opening session of the International Conference of the ICC-FraudNet -- Global Human Rights Network, the Central Bank's relentless efforts ensure that the banking sector in Lebanon did not facilitate corruption or serve as a corridor for corruption.
"We had previously explained the mechanism of the new circular to all parties, and we had met with all the concerned sides; there will be no change to the new circular," Salameh said during the ICC conference which is being held at the Phoenicia Hotel.
The Central Bank Governor explained that the purpose of the circular was to facilitate the process of importing basic commodities such as medicine, wheat, and fuel.
"The US dollar is available in the Lebanese market, and the monetary situation is stable," Salame added.
