"Lebanon still endures a battle to preserve its national presence," Loyalty to the Resistance Parliamentary bloc head, MP Mohammad Raad, said in a speech he delivered earlier on Monday at a commemoration ceremony in the southern Lebanese town of Breikeh.
"We have not seriously delved into a process of reform and change that is fair, attains social justice, and builds the economy," Raad added.
"We are tackling this issue by confronting the existential threat to our homeland," the lawmaker added, stressing the need to fortify internal stability to achieve real change.
Moreover, Raad called for patience pending stability in Syria so that the burden of the Syrian crisis ramifications would be mitigated, especially with regard to the simmering refugee crisis.
"The presence of one and a half million Syrians in Lebanon requires double services, especially now that the infrastructure, electricity and other services need to be re-examined," he added.
Raad finally stressed the need to unify the national vision and to find a plan to reactivate the state in Lebanon by means of drafting plans on the basis of respect for the Lebanese citizens.
