Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea announced on Monday that Bashar al-Assad's regime's regaining power in Lebanon was a red line, adding that Iran and Hezbollah will do everything possible to make sure Assad stays in power, under the pretext of the refugee case.
"If we really want to guarantee the return of Syrian refugees to their country, we should not talk with Bashar Assad. We should rather talk with the countries concerned to find the best ways for the refugees to return," he said.
Geagea made these remarks during his participation in a mass ceremony in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Lebanon in Sydney.
The leader of the Lebanese Forces called on expatriates to register their names on the lists of voters, so that they can participate in the legislative elections scheduled for next spring. "This is a golden opportunity to change the political class in Lebanon," he said.
"We will not abandon Lebanon, we will face on all fronts, notably corruption," Geagea concluded.
