The commissioners of Kenya's election oversight body resigned from their positions, the government said on Wednesday, part of an agreement to resolve a row with the opposition that led to protests and violence earlier this year.
"The Chairperson and Commissioners of the IEBC have tendered their written notices of resignation," Joseph Kinyua, chief of staff and head of public service, said in a statement.
All 10 members of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission resigned, the statement said.
