"We hope that consultations and contacts made by former Prime Minister, Saad Hariri, would lead to breakthroughs on all levels, at the forefront, the presidential elections," Mufti of the Republic Abdul-Latif Deryan said on Sunday on the occasion of The first day of the new Islamic year.
In his address, the Mufti urged all the political components to boost their efforts regarding the presidential elections for the country's sake.
Deryan expressed worries over disabling the cabinet sessions as well as the suspension of the round table dialogue and urged those concerned to reactivate the dialogue and cabinet meetings.
He blamed Deputies and Ministers for not carrying out their duties in the wake of presidential vacuum and cabinet paralysis.
Deryan warned against any possible deterioration of the political situation which reflected negatively on the streets.
He called on all politicians to make an effort for the unity of the people, which prevented any internal conflicts.
