Russian Foreign Minister Michael Bogdanov urged, on the sidelines of the Arab league summit, for the immediate settlement of the presidential deadlock so as to restore the country’s stability.
“Moscow believes a consensual candidate, agreed to by all of March 8 and 14, remains the only solution,” he noted in an interview published in al-Mustaqbal newspaper.
“Moscow plays no role in powering the presidential impasse; it is in constant contact with all factions and is close to meeting with a number of political figures so as to address the situation’s development and challenges,” Bogdanov added.
