Lebanese Kataeb MP Nadime Gemayel said on Monday that the salvation of the Lebanese, especially the Christians, lies in clinging to the Lebanese State, in the shadow of the delicate local situation.
Gemayel believed that the actual role of Christians in the East is being able to preserve the Christian presence in the region.
Tackling the political and security situation in Lebanon, Gemayel blamed the vacuum on Hezbollah which, in his words, has always acted with arrogance towards the Lebanese state.
Gemayel said that Lebanon will never be aloof from what is happening in Syria, recalling the plot of Samaha-Mamlouk against the Lebanese people.
Commenting on the events of Maaloula, the Kataeb MP pointed out that the village is under attack and violence by the Syrian regime just like other villages of Deirezzor, Aleppo and Homs.
In this context, he called on the Syrian Christians to make their choice, alongside the regime or the opposition and not alongside the regime or the Al-Nosra front.
