MP Hadi Abou Al-Hassan considered that “the initiative of the representatives of the opposition forces exceeds the powers of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in terms of the form and management of dialogue,” noting that "the country deserves to sacrifice the form of dialogue to end the presidential vacuum.”
He pointed out in an interview with “Voice of All Lebanon 93.3” Radio Channel this morning that the Lebanese have overlooked the constitution in several stages, including the time when former President Michel Sleiman was elected without amending the constitution, after agreeing in Doha to name him as president.
The MP called on the representatives of the opposition forces to "request an appointment from Speaker Berri to present their concerns, and for each party to provide its opinion to reach a solution to the presidential impasse."
Abou Al-Hassan stressed herein that “the Democratic Gathering supports any movement or initiative that contributes to saving Lebanon from its crises."
He considered that the issue of the presidency has not yet matured among many parties, pointing out that “the contradiction in decisions and opinions is due to a lack of trust between the parties.”
