Caretaker Minister of Industry George Boujikian visited Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi at the Maronite Patriarchate in Bkerke.
Talks between the pair reportedly touched on national and general affairs.
For his part, Boujikian briefed Rahi on the progress of the industrial sector in Lebanon and the ministry's efforts in this regard.
He also informed him about the opening of the industry exhibition in Lebanon yesterday evening, which is considered one of the most important specialized exhibitions to promote the national industry under the title "Lebanon's Pulse: Its Industry."
The importance of resolving the refugee crisis and find effective ways to repatriate them to their countries, starting with those without valid documents or permits, was also highlighted.
“A year ago, a decision was made to prohibit factory owners from employing foreign workers and Syrians residing illegally,” Boujikian said, pointing out that "ministry engineers are conducting inspections to ensure that factory owners comply with this decision.”
