Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros Rahi, in his Sunday sermon at Bkerki, stated that "the delay in electing a president has led to a general chaos that allowed officials to seize power to the point of tyranny, overthrowing the principles, which poses a danger to national unity."
He added, "Distortions in the constitution and coexistence, Lebanon is collapsing, and the ceiling will collapse on everyone."
He continued, "We commend the efforts of the Quint Committee, thank them for their efforts, and hope for a response from the political forces to it."
On another note, al-Rahi addressed the issue of the closed real estate departments in Mount Lebanon for a year and a half, considering that "the delay in taking practical and serious steps to restore work to its normal state is alarming and unacceptable."
