Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Monday welcomed at his Ain el-Tineh residence the Syriac Catholic Patriarch, Ignatius Youssef III Younan, who said after the meeting that he had seized the opportunity to congratulate Berri on his re-election as parliament speaker and to wish him “a term that’s run wisely through dialogue and acceptance of all, regardless of multiple party affiliations and away from sectarianism.”

Berri then welcomed Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Qian Minjian, who handed him a congratulatory message from Li Zhanshu, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China, which emphasized the development of "friendly cooperation" between Lebanon and China. 

The Parliament Speaker separately welcomed the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Lebanon, Major General Jahangir Al Mustahidur Rahman, with whom he reviewed the general situation, as well as bilateral relations between the two countries.
