Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abbas Hajj Hassan, on Friday visited Archbishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Zahle and Ferzol, Ibrahim Ibrahim, in the presence of Minister of Industry, George Boujikian, and the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Engineer Louis Lahoud.

Minister Hajj Hassan underlined during the visit that the Islamic-Christian coexistence is a great blessing for the Lebanese people, and it must be constantly emphasized and consecrated.

The visit aimed to discuss affairs related to the district and its agricultural sector.

During his tour to the Ministry's centers in central and western Bekaa, the Minister of Agriculture visited the Agricultural Research Center and met with the Center’s head and the staff, with whom he followed up on an array of administrative affairs.

The Minister spoke about the Ministry's plan for the advancement of the wheat cultivation sector.

Discussions also reportedly touched on the problems facing the agricultural sector and the means to address them.

Within his tour, Minister Hajj Hassan also visited the Agricultural Scientific Research Authority.
