Lebanese Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, received in Ain el-Tineh on Tuesday the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, in the presence of Turkey's Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Baris Ulusoy, with whom he tackled the general situation in Lebanon and the region and went over the means to bolster bilateral relations.

After the meeting, Cavusoglu said: "We had the opportunity to evaluate the prospects of developing Lebanese-Turkish relations. Speaker Berri briefed us on the preparations for the parliamentary elections scheduled for next March. We agreed on the importance of developing ties between the two councils and exchanging visits at various levels between the two countries."

In the afternoon, Speaker Berri tackled the latest political developments and the ration card project during his meeting with Prime Minister Najib Mikati, in the presence of Minister of Social Affairs Hector Hajjar and Economy Minister Amin Salam.
