Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Bassam Mawlawi, followed up since Saturday's early morning hours on the operations underway to extinguish the fires that broke out in each of Tyre, Beit Meri, Ibrin and Kaslik, in which a large number of regional centers affiliated with the Civil Defense and firefighting teams of the municipal unions are partaking, in addition to a number of helicopters belonging to the Lebanese army and the international peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon.

Minister Mawlawi requested those concerned to quickly put out the fires and work to prevent their spread, and gave instructions to prepare temporary artificial ponds for use by the rafts, in coordination with the mayors and the concerned municipalities.

The Minister of Interior also checked on the health conditions of a number of civil defense personnel, who fainted as a result of the firefighting operations.
