The two newly appointed members of the Constitutional Council, former minister Judge Albert Serhan and lawyer Mireille Emile Najm, took the legal oath on Tuesday before President Aoun, in the presence of the head of the Constitutional Council, Judge Tannous Mechleb, after the issuance of the decree appointing them, and before assuming their duties.
After taking the oath, the President wished the two new members success in their responsibilities, emphasizing the importance of the Constitutional Council and its role in monitoring the constitutionality of laws and correcting any constitutional defect that might occur in the work of the legislative authority.
