Law No.8 (dated 3/11/2021) amending some articles of Law No. 44 (dated 17/6/2017) regarding the election of Parliament members was issued in supplement to No. 43 of the Official Gazette.

The law amendment was not followed by the signature of the President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, who had previously returned it to the Parliament, requesting that it be reconsidered due to constitutional and legal violations, which were included in detail in the letter that President Aoun sent to the Parliament two weeks ago.

The law is considered legally effective and must be published based on Article 57 of the Constitution, after it was not issued by the President since the Parliament did not take into consideration the notes made by President Aoun and requested time to reconsider.
