Information Minister George Kordahi confirmed that "there are positive indications for the resumption of cabinet sessions during the next week."
Kordahi indicated that Prime Minister Najib Mikati is a "pragmatic" man who knows how to rotate corners, noting that the government is still working and holding meetings in several fields, and its work did not stop with the suspension of the council's sessions.
“Financial meetings and other meetings are continuing under the chairmanship of PM Najib Mikati,” the minister noted.
Regarding the port issue, he said that he has a problem with the work of the judicial investigator in the case of the Beirut port explosion, Judge Tarek Al-Bitar, but the solution in this file is judicial and not governmental.
Minister Kordahi pointed out that “the current government is one of the best in terms of work and harmony, and that hearts are pure among the ministers and there is homogeneity among them,”stressing that the relationship between President Michel Aoun and Prime Minister Najib Mikati is excellent.
The minister confirmed that he has not decided his candidacy for the upcoming parliamentary elections, stressing that his candidate for the presidency is Suleiman Franjieh.
On the issue of the dollar's rise against the lira, the minister said that the country needs one billion dollars in the market to control it, but the demand for it is high, especially since diesel fuel is sold today in dollars, which also increases demand.
Finally, he explained that the issuance of the financing card was postponed because the project needs further study.
