President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, met on Friday with the Youth and Sports Minister, Dr. George Kallas, at Baabda Palace.
Kallas said that he thanked the President for the confidence he had placed in him by appointing him as minister in the new government, stressing the role of youth in building tomorrow's Lebanon.
The Youth Minister also considered that the field and realistic interaction between various components of the Lebanese youth have a positive impact.
In addition, Minister Kallas pointed out that he focused, in this context, on re-working the service of science, given the national fusion par excellence it achieved.
President Aoun also met with former Minister of Youth and Sports, Ms. Vartine Ohanian.
After the meeting, Ohanian said that she thanked the President for the support she received from him during her presence in the previous government, and briefed him on the achievements made during her ministerial term, including the completion of the drafting of a new and modern law for the ministry, and the implementation of implementing decrees for the new law, and the formation of the Youth Parliament Committee, which she considered an “Important project that I wished to continue and communicate with the new Minister of Youth and Sports for this purpose”.
Ohanian also stated that the Arab Scout Conference will be held next year in Lebanon under the auspices of the President, and it is necessary to prepare for it from now on to ensure its success.
The President then received the Secretary-General of the Lebanese-Syrian Supreme Council, Dr. Nasri Khoury.
The work of the General Secretariat, was addressed in addition to the ways to activate relations with Syria in all fields.
Dr. Khoury indicated that the “Lebanese-Syrian joint technical committee, which uncovered the gas pipeline between Lebanon and Syria, prepared a report indicating that the pipeline needs minor repairs to be ready for work”.
