Bsharri Governmental Hospital on Wednesday disclosed 12 positive Covid-19 cases in the region. However, the hospital deplored the fact that the results had been leaked to the media before the hospital's administration was even able to finish the screening process.
In a statement issued today, in response to the massive media analysis over what has been deemed as a relatively high number of confirmed cases in Bsharri, the hospital explained that the increasing number of positive cases was normal due to the fact that the hospital had been following up on all the suspected patients and made sure they all took the PCR tests.
However, the statement also confirmed that Covid-19 was still contained in Bsharri, as all the positive cases were undergoing strict follow up by the hospital's crisis management cell.
The statement also mentioned that the hospital had received 500 PCR tests from William Tawk's office, and another set of 300 PCR tests from the Lebanese community in Australia, through Bechara Keyrouz.
Moreover, the hospital implored those who were asked to take the PCR test not to panic as "this is the best means to help contain the disease."
Last but not least, the statement reminded Bcharre residents to stay home and practice social distancing.
