Minister for the Displaced, Ghada Shreim, on Monday lashed out at what she termed as "political outbidding" pertaining to the repatriation of Lebanese emigrants amid coronavirus concerns.
"Our position is clear regarding expats and the necessity of their return. It is our responsibility and we are working on a practical mechanism; there is no need for political outbidding," Shreim told Al-Jadeed TV channel.
"I do not know why House Speaker Nabih Berri opened fire on the government amid this critical juncture, especially that [the government] is burning the midnight oil to weather this time of tribulation storming Lebanon," the Minister said.
"We do not need anybody to tell us what to do," she added.
