Diab’s Interrogation: Defense Pushes for Dismissal in Beirut Explosion Case
The interrogation session of former Prime Minister Hassan Diab before the lead investigator of the Beirut Port explosion case, Judge Tarek Bitar, ended earlier today.

Following the session, Diab’s legal representative, former minister and lawyer Rachid Derbas, described the proceedings as "good," noting that the defense focused on two key points: first, that it was Prime Minister Diab himself who referred the case to the Judicial Council; and second, that the defense team maintains the position that only the Supreme Council for the Trial of Presidents and Ministers holds jurisdiction in such matters.

"We will assert this argument if the case proceeds before the Judicial Council, but we remain hopeful that it will ultimately lead to the dismissal of charges against Prime Minister Diab," Derbas added.
