President of the Republic Joseph Aoun congratulated the government, both its prime minister and ministers, on securing Parliament’s confidence, while also expressing gratitude to the Speaker and MPs for fulfilling their constitutional duty.
“I value the confidence granted by the MPs and respect the position of those who withheld it. In our parliamentary democracy, opposition is a right, a duty, a necessity, and a responsibility,” Aoun stated.
The President also praised the national consensus emerging around the principles of dialogue and the recognition of the Lebanese state's authority in major national issues.
"The recent series of significant positions reflecting this consensus forms a solid foundation for the national rescue effort," Aoun added.
