The following statement was issued by Prime Minister Najib Mikati:
"On this day, when the people of the wounded South expressed their attachment to their land and identity despite the Israeli enemy's threats, we extend our admiration to our steadfast people in the South or those who were forced to flee their land due to the aggression, especially those who decided to return today and faced the enemy's fire with bravery.
Your patriotism has become an example to follow and a testimony in blood that no right is lost when there are demands behind it.
We call on the countries that mediated the ceasefire agreement to bear their responsibilities in deterring the aggression and forcing the Israeli enemy to withdraw from the occupied lands, and this is what we have directly conveyed to the concerned parties, warning that any retreat from commitment to the ceasefire and the implementation of Resolution 1701 will have severe consequences."
Mikati warns of severe consequences: This is what we informed the concerned parties
