President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received a phone call from the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres congratulating him on his presidential election and wishing him success in his new national responsibilities.
Guterres affirmed the United Nations' support for Lebanon in all fields, and its continued assistance necessitated by the current situation through international organizations operating in Lebanon. He also expressed his desire to visit Lebanon next Saturday to congratulate President Aoun and discuss the work program of international organizations in the next phase.
In turn, the President thanked the UN Secretary-General, expressed appreciation for the support provided by the United Nations to Lebanon, and welcomed the visit that Guterres intends to make to Lebanon.
