President Joseph Aoun expressed his strong desire for the swift formation of a government, so that Lebanon can get back on track and begin rebuilding trust with the international community, which is ready to engage.
He stated, "This is an era for all Lebanese, regardless of their position or religion," adding, "We have a tremendous opportunity before us, one we can either seize or lose. To benefit from it, we must stand united."
The President further emphasized, "I didn’t come to engage in politics; I came to build a state. A state can only be built on justice and equality, where all its components share one identity." He noted that "we possess the necessary capabilities, resources, and human potential—sustainable wealth that is more valuable than natural resources. What we need is a genuine intention for the good of Lebanon, not for personal gain."
He also stressed, "We must seek assistance from abroad, but not use foreign support to strengthen ourselves against the internal situation. No religion or individual holds superiority over another." He concluded, "We are all Lebanese, united by the same identity. We sing the same national anthem, and the Lebanese flag belongs to all of us. The right to differ is sacred, but the right to conflict is unacceptable."
